Shobhana Chelliah

Shobhana is Associate Dean for Research, College of Information at University of North Texas. She specializes in collecting, archiving, and analyzing language data in interaction with native speakers of Tibeto-Burman languages of northeast India. Along with her students, she is currently contributing to efforts to standardize the writing system for the Lamkang community (Manipur State, India). They are working on creating a lexical database and grammatical sketch to contribute to revitalization efforts.
