Michaël Bikard
- London Business School
Michaël Bikard is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at London Business School. I am also affiliated with the Center for Biomedical Innovation at MIT.
In his research, he studies how individuals and firms use new knowledge as a source of competitive advantage. For example, what are the drivers of scientific advances? Under which conditions are firms and individuals able to exploit opportunities emerging from those advances? To find answers to those questions, he takes advantage of “natural experiments.” For example, he developed a new method that uses simultaneous discoveries in science in order to conduct the first “twin studies” of new knowledge.
Bikard holds a PhD from the Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management group at MIT Sloan School of Management. His research has received a number of awards, including the 1st place in MIT Sloan Doctoral Research Forum, the Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship, the J. Robert Beyster Fellowship and an NSF SBE Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant.
