Jan Youtie

Jan Youtie, PhD is a director in the Enterprise Innovation Institute, a commercialization, entrepreneurship, and business services unit of Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on technology-based economic development, manufacturing modernization, emerging technology assessment, bibliometric and patent analysis, and innovation and knowledge measurement and evaluation. Sponsors of her work include the National Science Foundation, European Commission, and the Expertenkommission Forschung und Innovation. Her research has appeared in Research Policy, Scientometrics, and the Journal of Technology Transfer among others. She has been recognized as one of the top authors in technology and innovation management research by the International Association of Management of Technology. Her recent book, The Strength in Numbers, co-authored with Barry Bozeman and published by Princeton University Press, discusses research authorship decision-making. She holds a doctorate in political science from Emory University.
